France's Yellow Vests: Western Repression of the West's Best Values - Mazaheri, Ramin

After the first book I read on the yellow vests, I decided I need another to get a better perspective. This is not an easy book. It also goes way back in time to present a historic context of capitalism, economics, politics and its current incarnation as liberal democracy.

There is no good news here. The summary is that if you loose your value as human capital, you are left behind and if you try to have a voice you will be silenced.

It also got me curious to look into the power structures in Europe and within the Euro zone and put the books of Yanis Varoufakis on my read next list.

The yellow vest protests in my mind are a precursor of where you end up if you allow the markets to optimise for profit maximisation without making sure you have policies and structures in place for the people you are going to leave behind, out of work, out of luck, without a credible way to re-school, re-tool.
