Completed IBM Applied AI specialisation on Coursera

I completed the IBM Applied AI specialisation on Coursera. It is a pretty ok course. It gives you a pretty good idea of the Watson service offering and gets you to play around with the APIs and tools.

Overall I do feel that IBM Watson is behind the ball on what OpenAI and other players have been launching in the last 6 months. The chatbots are quite declarative in how they work. You need to set up the intents, the actions, the responses. I feel that the Large Language Models have all this understanding already.

I also go to use the voice to speech and speech to voice services. Those are very simple to implement to the point that they are a little bit anti climactic - it's impressive that this is now possible but also quite a basic skill to acquire in the computer cognitive future we are living.

Unfortunately the discovery service of Watson is no longer available in their free account tier so I was not able to play around with document analysis. I suspect that the goalpost here has also moved now that we can get ChatGPT to summarise and review documents.
